The new bill-pay office, opened on Aug. An addition to the current Medical Associates and Medical Center billing offices located in Annex I is located in Room 1204 of the Medical Office Building.
The new location offers patients in the healthcare system an unprecedented level of convenience, according to Carol Howard, director of revenue cycle management.
“Our patients will find the new Customer Service location to be very convenient,” Howard said. Patients no longer need to go to Annex I to speak with a representative because they can now visit the Medical Office Building. Many clients desire to settle their accounts while they are at the medical clinic. Now they’ll be able to do that. ”.
Prior to this, the offices for Medical Associates and Medical Center Customer Service were separated and located in Annex I. These offices will remain open, but representatives in Annex I will concentrate on handling financial assistance applications.
Employees at the new billing location have received cross-training to deal with questions about paying bills that pertain to both Medical Associates and Medical Center billing. Additionally, the new location has a payment kiosk where patients can use debit or credit cards, personal checks, or the health system’s payment portal to pay bills.
In addition, patients can call the number on their bill (706-721-2961 for hospital bills or 606828-1828 for outpatient bills) or visit the Augusta University Health Patient Portal to engage in live chat with a customer service agent.
