The American members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints now have a way to pay their tithing and other charitable contributions electronically.
The Church Online Donations website, accessible through ChurchofJesusChrist. org, will be rolled out to congregations in the U. S. Local leaders will be informed by the Church when it becomes accessible in their region throughout 2015
The initial site, according to the Church’s Finance and Records Department, not only showed a streamlined donation process for members, but also lessened the workload on local leaders and clerks who had to process donations each week.
Members will still have the choice to deliver printed receipts and envelopes to their neighborhood priesthood leaders by hand. The Church’s new website for online donations simply gives members in the United States another way to give to the Church.
The website makes it simple for friends and family to contribute to the Church whether they are LDS members or not, making it possible for them to support a missionary financially.
Users of the website will be able to print either an official U S. tax statement or general statement for personal records.
