Manteca is a city in California’s San Joaquin Valley. The city’s name is Spanish for “lard”, and it was originally founded as a stop on the Butterfield Overland Mail stagecoach route. Manteca is now a rapidly growing suburb of the Bay Area, and its utility bill pay options have lagged behind its growth.
Manteca residents currently have three options for paying their utility bills: in person, by mail, or online. The online payment system is not user-friendly, and the in-person option requires residents to take time out of their busy schedules to go to City Hall during business hours. The City of Manteca is currently working on a new online payment system that will be more user-friendly and will offer residents the ability to pay their bills 24/7.
