The court date and the violation are always printed in the top left corner of uniform traffic tickets. The Uniform Fine Schedule violations don’t require a court appearance and can be paid in advance. A court appearance is necessary for any other offenses that aren’t covered by the uniform fine schedule or if the traffic infraction resulted in a collision.
If there was no accident involved, your violation is on the Uniform Fine Schedule, and you want to enter a guilty plea without going to court:
You can ask for an ability to pay determination hearing at your court date if you believe you are indigent and are unable to pay a fine or perform community service. The Statement of Financial Condition form must be completed. The form will be given to you at your court date or can be found under the Forms section.
Ask the judge on your court date if you want to perform community service instead of paying a fine. The only person who has the authority to convert fines into community service hours is the judge. If the Judge has already assigned you community service hours, the places where you can complete them and submit the time sheet are listed below.
