This new service is secure, convenient, and easy to use. Simply log in to your account, view your bill, and make a payment. You can also set up recurring payments so you never have to worry about missing a payment.

If you have any questions about how to pay your electric bill or make other arrangements, call our office and speak with a representative.

Payments

Pay at the SMEC office located in Rainsville. Cashiers will accept cash, cashier and personal checks, VISA, Discover, MasterCard or American Express.

Pay after hours using SMEC’s night deposit located near the drive through window at the headquarters building in Rainsville. Cash payment is not recommended for the night deposit.

Send payments by mail using the envelope provided with monthly electric bill statements.

Pay by automatic bank draft. Payment is recurring and will be deducted from your bank account each month.

Pay current electric bills at one of the RPS locations or collection agents listed below.

Click on the Pay Bill Online tab and follow instructions to pay by electronic check, VISA, Discover, MasterCard or American Express. An account number and password are required to enter this area. Online payments must be made before 11 p.m., otherwise they will be posted the following business day

Levelized Billing is available for those who qualify, please call the office for more information.

Neighbor Helping Neighbor

The “Neighbor Helping Neighbor” program is a community effort among churches, civic groups and SMEC to help families pay for electrical service. It is a simple program where interested members can specify a monthly amount to pledge and then have that amount added to their electric bill. All donations will be used to pay for electricity in SMEC’s service area. Funds are distributed through the local Community Action Neighborhood Centers. SMEC members that wish to participate in “Neighbor Helping Neighbor” can print a form.
