The Town of Narragansett Water Division will be flushing fire hydrants on the VEOLIA-supplied North End Water System between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. starting around November 16, 2022 and ending on November 25, 2022. m. and 3:30 p. m. Water that is discolored and with lower water pressure than usual might be experienced by our clients. Turn off your water immediately, wait a short while while we flush your neighborhood, then run your cold-water faucet until the water clears if you experience dirty water while the flushing process is underway. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

This is a semi-annual procedure to clear the water main of sediment and organic matter, as well as to inspect the fire hydrants. Call the Narragansett Water Division at (782) 0639 with any inquiries.

The town’s water storage and delivery systems, which include more than 71 miles of pipe lines, more than 300 hydrants, and three storage tanks with a combined capacity of two million gallons, are completely operated and maintained by the Water Division. For approximately 5,230 customers, we compile and validate the water roll as well as perform quarterly meter readings (which serve as the foundation for water and sewer bills). The Water Division is housed in the Water Enterprise Fund, which is entirely funded by user fees and charges and receives no support from property taxes.

The 2010 Annual Survey of Rhode Island Residential Water Rates has been published by the Rhode Island Water Resources Board. In addition to being the recipients of the “Best Tasting Water in RI” award in 2009, we are proud to continue providing our customers with first-rate service at a very competitive price. We are happy to report that Narragansett offers the second lowest drinking water rates in the State. “.
